 Dylan
was the first dog I ran in field trials. At the time,
he was more than I could handle. Every time we turned
him loose he’d end up 3 hills away and I’d
have to fight off the tears, singing to him to try to
convince him to come back! Good thing he always knew best.
Despite his amateur handler, Dylan managed to get numerous
puppy and derby placements.
Not only did he get 2nd in the 1997 Western
Futurity, but he also got the dual dog award, handled
in both by Mr. Steve Bailey. I believe it was Steve’s
first and last time showing a dog, but I sure appreciate
the effort (see pictures below)!
Dylan later went on to win the 1998-1999 Colorado All Age Dog of the Year. He completed his FC with the help of Tracy and Jack Haines. He was a true All Age dog, and a great companion. Although Dylan passed at almost 15 years old, he was very active and happy until the end. Luckily, he passed on his wonderful demeanor to Sawyer and Ty, so we can be reminded of him for a long time to come. |

Orlando has many Puppy and Derby placements. He is also currently in second for Colorado’s All Breed Derby dog of the 2009-2010 season. So far he is big running and very stylish on point. Make sure to watch out for this guy!
